Manager packages rotten produce
“The rude manager refuses to remove the rotten produce from packaging. They package good & bad produce together, insisting that's how they come. He refuses to allow the produce dept to remove them for you. Aldo refused to sell me only one lemon, insisting I must pay for a package of four. Buyer beware! U end up with no bargain here, unless u don't mind having to throw away half ur produce when u get home. Shame on this manager! I asked him who was the owner, he said he didn't know.”

Dishonest Help
“What I don't like is deceitful people! I went in to get a couple steaks for a nice dinner tonight while in Florida and was surprised by the interactions with the young guy behind the counter. I picked out the steaks I wanted, he pointed to clarify and then picked them up to be wrapped. I then turned away to browse the shop when my attention was drawn back by the guy putting my steaks back on the shelf and wrapping something else up. I thought that I must have been being paranoid as I couldn't believe what I was seeing, so I assumed I must have been wrong. But then I observed an interaction between the guy and a female co-worker who was smiling in bewilderment and motioned to him that she saw what he had done. He then responded to her that this is how we do things... and I'm ok with that. When he brought my order to the cash I asked to unwrap the steaks and sure enough they were not what I had ordered. I commented about this and his response was to initially blame me, telling me that I chosen these steaks, but when I assured him that they were not he apologized and gave me the steaks I wanted. I have not yet eaten these steaks as they are for a New Years' dinner tonight, so I cannot comment on the quality - the ones I chose (and eventually got) look good - but it certainly does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Compounding this anger is the fact that they were the only place open which made it impossible for me to walk away and go elsewhere! To the owners: your reputation on-line seems to be of a good quality neighborhood butcher. In order to maintain this, you need to get rid of this kind of dishonest help...if he will steal from customers, he will likely steal from you! If he happens to be related to you, my apologies but it is too late - he is dishonest and ok with that! Finally, if this is a practice that you indeed endorse (remember: this is how we do things... and I'm ok with that), shame on you.”

“This place is really close to my parents house. I normally don't write reviews, but in this case, this place deserves. It is a small locally owned place. Nothing fancy, but it has some of the best meat for a good price that you will find anywhere. My dad brought home some prime cut steaks, which I normally prefer rib cuts for $5.99/lb and ot was one of the best steaks I have ever had. I'm gonna stop by on my way home and get some more. We picked up several slabs of ribs from there a few weeks ago and they were excellent. I'm not a fan of lean meats because they tend to lack flavor and often are dry. This place has a selection of lean meats, but that's not why I go there...just an fyi”
